Just two days into his little life, this sheepdog puppy (now named Blaze!) was rescued by firefighters in Bovey Tracey, Devon in September 2016.

ITV News reported that James Barter, the owner of the puppy, was able to save the Meg, the puppies’ mother. Unfortunately, Blaze was the only puppy to survive the fire. James described how, as soon as the firefighters had gently applied the oxygen mask to Blaze, “the colour came back into its face” and he was able to take him down to the vets for further treatment.

We had donated the masks to Newton Abbot Fire Service just weeks before, which gave the little pup the best chance of survival.
